Ingredients

  • 400 g Sirloin Beef sliced thinly
  • 2 Bell Peppers red and green, sliced
  • 1 Large Yellow Onion sliced
  • 3 tbsp Vegetable Oil
  • 2 cloves Garlic minced
  • 1 tsp Ginger grated
  • 3 tbsp Soy Sauce
  • 1 tbsp Oyster Sauce
  • 1 tbsp Hoisin Sauce
  • 1 tsp Cornstarch mixed with 2 tbsp water
  • 1/2 tsp Black Pepper
  • Salt To taste
  • Optional Garnish: Sesame Seeds

Method

Prepare Ingredients:
  1. Slice the sirloin beef into thin strips against the grain. Marinate with 1 tablespoon soy sauce, 1 teaspoon cornstarch mixture, and a pinch of black pepper. Let sit for 5 minutes.
  2. Cut bell peppers and onion into bite-sized pieces. Mince garlic and grate ginger.
Sear the Beef:
  1. Heat 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil in a large wok or skillet over high heat (around 200°C). Add marinated beef and cook until browned on all sides but still slightly pink inside (about 2–3 minutes). Remove from pan and set aside.
Stir-Fry Vegetables:
  1. In the same wok, add remaining oil. Sauté garlic and ginger for 30 seconds until fragrant. Add sliced onions and cook until translucent. Then toss in bell peppers and sauté for another 2–3 minutes until they soften slightly.
Combine Everything:
  1. Return the cooked beef to the wok. Stir in soy sauce, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, and remaining cornstarch mixture. Toss everything together until the sauce thickens and coats the ingredients evenly.
Season & Serve:
  1. Adjust seasoning with salt and additional black pepper if needed. Garnish with sesame seeds before serving hot over steamed rice or noodles.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, you can marinate the beef longer (up to 30 minutes).
  • Use a mix of red, green, and yellow bell peppers for vibrant colors.
  • If you don’t have hoisin sauce, substitute with barbecue sauce or plum sauce.
