500g beef chip steak
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp fresh parsley, chopped for garnish

Method

  1. Prepare the Steak: Pat the beef chip steak dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture.
  2. Season: In a small bowl, mix salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and smoked paprika. Rub this seasoning blend evenly over both sides of the steak.
  3. Heat the Pan: In a large skillet or cast-iron pan, heat olive oil over medium-high heat.
  4. Sear the Steak: Place the steak in the hot pan and cook for 2-3 minutes per side or until browned and cooked to your desired doneness.
  5. Add Butter & Worcestershire Sauce: Reduce heat to low, add butter and Worcestershire sauce, and baste the steak for an additional minute.
  6. Rest the Steak: Transfer the steak to a plate and let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing.
  7. Garnish & Serve: Sprinkle with fresh parsley and serve with your favorite sides.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, marinate the steak for 30 minutes before cooking.
  • Use a meat thermometer to check doneness: 55°C (medium-rare), 60°C (medium), 65°C (medium-well).
  • Serve with mashed potatoes, roasted vegetables, or a fresh salad.
