Ingredients
  

500 g boneless chicken breast (cut into bite-sized pieces)
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 5 garlic cloves minced
  • 1 tbsp crushed black pepper
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch mixed with 2 tbsp water
  • 1 tbsp honey optional for balance
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1 tsp white vinegar
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp sugar
  • 1 small onion sliced
  • 1 green bell pepper sliced
  • 1 spring onion chopped for garnish

Method
 

  1. Prepare the Chicken: In a bowl, season the chicken with salt and half of the black pepper. Set aside for 10 minutes.
  2. Cook the Chicken: Heat oil and butter in a pan over medium-high heat. Add the chicken pieces and stir-fry until golden brown. Remove and set aside.
  3. Sauté the Garlic: In the same pan, add minced garlic and sliced onions. Cook until fragrant.
  4. Prepare the Sauce: Add soy sauce, oyster sauce, chicken broth, honey, vinegar, and remaining black pepper. Stir well.
  5. Combine Ingredients: Return the chicken to the pan and toss it in the sauce.
  6. Thicken the Sauce: Add the cornstarch slurry and mix until the sauce thickens.
  7. Add Vegetables: Stir in the sliced bell peppers and cook for 2 more minutes.
  8. Final Touch: Drizzle sesame oil, mix well, and turn off the heat.
  9. Garnish & Serve: Sprinkle chopped spring onions on top and serve hot with rice or noodles.
