Ingredients

  • 2 Cuos Hemp seeds hulled
  • 1-2 tabespoons Coconut oil optional
  • 1/4 tsp Salt optional
  • 1-2 tabespoons Sweetener e.g., honey or maple syrup
  • 1 tsp Additional flavorings optional

Method

  1. Roast (Optional): Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Spread the hemp seeds evenly on a baking sheet and roast them for 5–7 minutes, stirring halfway through. This step enhances the flavor but can be skipped if you prefer raw hemp seed butter.
  2. Blend the Seeds: Place the hulled hemp seeds in a food processor or high-speed blender. Pulse a few times to break the seeds into smaller pieces, then blend continuously.
  3. Add Oil (If Needed): If the mixture is too dry, gradually add 1-2 tablespoons of coconut oil or any preferred oil, continuing to blend until you achieve a smooth consistency.
  4. Customize: Once you have a creamy texture, add salt or sweetener, and any additional flavorings like cinnamon, vanilla, or cacao powder to taste. Blend again until fully combined.
  5. Store: Transfer your hemp seed butter to an airtight container and refrigerate. It will last up to 2–3 weeks.

Notes

Hemp seed butter has a slightly earthy flavor, which can be modified by adding sweeteners or flavorings like vanilla or cinnamon. For a smoother consistency, blend for longer or add a bit more oil or water. You can also make this recipe with a high-speed blender if you don’t have a food processor, although it may take a bit more effort.
