Ingredients

1 tbsp Chinese gunpowder green tea
  • 5 cups water
  • 1 large bunch fresh mint leaves
  • 4 tbsp sugar adjust to taste

Method

  1. Boil the Water: Bring 5 cups of water to a boil.
  2. Rinse the Tea Leaves: Add the green tea to a teapot. Pour a little boiling water over it, swirl for a few seconds, then discard the water. This step helps remove bitterness.
  3. Brew the Tea: Pour the remaining hot water over the rinsed tea leaves and let it steep for 2-3 minutes.
  4. Add Mint and Sugar: Add fresh mint leaves and sugar directly into the teapot. Stir or swirl to mix.
  5. Aerate the Tea: Pour the tea into a glass, then pour it back into the pot. Repeat this process 2-3 times to enhance flavor and create foam.
  6. Serve: Pour into small glasses from a height to develop a light frothy layer. Enjoy!

Notes

  • Adjust sugar based on preference.
  • Use fresh, high-quality mint for the best aroma.
  • Pouring from a height enhances flavor and creates a signature foam.
