Ingredients

500 g snow crab legs
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
  • 1 tsp Old Bay seasoning or seafood seasoning
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes optional
  • Lemon wedges for serving

Method

  1. Prepare the Crab Legs: If the crab legs are frozen, thaw them in the refrigerator overnight or place them in cold water for 30 minutes.
  2. Melt the Butter: In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter. Add the minced garlic and sauté for 1–2 minutes until fragrant.
  3. Add Seasonings: Stir in the lemon juice, Old Bay seasoning, paprika, black pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using). Mix well.
  4. Coat the Crab Legs: Add the crab legs to the saucepan, basting them with the garlic butter sauce. Cover and let them cook for 5 minutes, flipping once to coat evenly.
  5. Bake or Steam (Optional): For deeper flavor, transfer the crab legs to a baking sheet, brush with more garlic butter, and bake at 200°C for 5 minutes. Alternatively, steam them for 3–4 minutes.
  6. Garnish and Serve: Sprinkle with fresh parsley and serve hot with lemon wedges and extra garlic butter for dipping.

Notes

  • If you don’t have Old Bay seasoning, use a mix of salt, paprika, celery salt, and cayenne.
  • You can grill the crab legs for a smoky flavor.
  • Serve with crusty bread or corn on the cob for a complete meal.
